New to Gallop Lifestyle – Crocheted Lace Rugs by Hooked Design
We are delighted to announce the arrival of an exciting product from the Finnish design house, Hooked Design.
Hooked Design was founded in 2009 by designer Minna Kokko and business student Tiina Jaatinen, who met at a Young Entrepreneurship course.
Handmade in Finland from recycled materials, Hooked Design’s crocheted lace rugs, $410 for 120cm, are available from Gallop Lifestyle.
With their love of reinventing old designs and motifs with a modern twist, they decided to create a range of lace rugs.
Hooked Design lace rugs are hand-made in Finland from recycled materials, using off cuts of material from Finnish and European textile factories to create their products. The material is predominantly cotton, but may include some synthetic fibres.
The name Hooked Design comes from the traditional crocheting technique which requires a crochet hook.
The lace rug design is influenced by the windows of the Notre Dame cathedral. Each rug is crocheted by hand, thus making it unique. They are durable, easy to maintain and can be cleaned in the washing machine.
We love the combination of the old and the new. These rugs have timeless appeal while adding a texture and pattern in any room in the home.
The rugs can be displayed as a wall hanging to create a design focal point or simply dress up your floors with a little luxury.
We are delighted to be working with Hooked Design. Their use of traditional crocheting techniques in a modern way is really creative and inspiring. We love the end result, and are delighted to be able to introduce their product to the Australian market.
Gallop Lifestyle will stock the rugs in white and black, in two sizes – 120cm and 140cm (diameter).
Custom made sizes are available on request. Delivery time is approximately 4 – 6 weeks.
